ROBBIE HUNG UP ON ASIA
Robbie, you know your single is shit, and I know you already sense that your album's gonna flop. But if you need some extra time to promote your album by cancelling shows, just say it. You don't have to make up lame excuses that will anger all your Asian fans really, like first of all, by calling China some 'entirely new territories'. China wasn't just recently discovered so it isn't exactly a new territory you know. And even if you're made to do this, I'd suggest you firing your publicist, since making announcements like these below aren't actually helping.
"...A spokesman said that to perform in China, India and south east Asia after honouring European and South American commitments "would be asking too much" "...The singer's spokesman said that Williams had been touring since May and was already "extremely tired". To perform in the "entirely new territories" of India and China, he said, "would have greatly added to his workload".
"...that the stress and exhaustion of the Asian tour, coming so shortly after the end of the European and South American dates, would seriously impact his health..." Isn't it funny cuz there was this moment when I really wanted to see Robbie's Close Encounter show in Hong Kong, but ticket prices are so steep that I can't afford it...
The cancelled Asian dates are scheduled for November. But mind you he is NOT cancelling October European/South American dates, and HE WILL continue to tour in December for the Australian gigs, as I assume Europe and Australia will not give him any stress or exhaustion like gigs in Asian countries would.
Oh, that makes a lot of sense. It takes some 20+ hours to travel from the UK to down under, so it would be asking for too much when fans try to make Robbie stop by Hong Kong (you know, the 'entirely new territory'?) by merely paying a really insignificantsmall sum of $2400 per ticket. Aren't we all being too cruel to our dear Robbie here?
Read full story here and here, and let's all hope Robbie's new album Rudebox do really well all over the world, like how his single managed to reach a very remarkable #4 on the UK singles chart, and only got beaten by Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado! I'm sure you must be very pleased, Rob.
